The purchasing managers' index is published in a variety of different places, depending on the company and country. For instance, both Markit and ISM publish PMI data for the United States, while China's Bureau of Statistics provides its own set of figures. The headline manufacturing PMI is a composite of five of the survey indices. These are New orders, Output, Employment, Suppliers' delivery times (inverted) and Stocks of purchases.
